Areca Backup is a free software developed in Java technologies for creating and programming backups.
In order to safeguard the data stored in our computer it is always advisable to perform scheduled backups; and, to that end, Areca Backup comes in handy and does the job.
Having a simple graphical interface, to use Areca Backup after its installation in the computer, you have to open a workspace, where you will choose the files and folders to be backed up.
Next, you should set the configurations that you want to be applied to the backup, such as selecting the unit and directory where the backup will be stored, or if you wish to compress it into a .zip file so that it takes up less storage space.
Once the configurations of Areca Backup have been set, the program is ready to perform the first backup. You can make as many backups as you want, and you can receive their reports via e-mail. Areca Backup also allows saving the backups to FTP.
