Microsoft is developing a new web browser

News

In the following article on ZDNet web page , is commented the possibility that Microsoft is developing a new web browser from scratch. This browser today, it is known as Spartan, and it will have a design and visual appearance more similar to the Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers. Despite the fact that the appearance of this new browser will be very similar to the above browsers, Spartan will not make use of the rendering engine WebKit (which is used by Safari and Chrome), but it will continue to use its own rendering engine called Trident. However, this new browser will be based on a fully renovated Trident rendering engine, more lightweight and with better support for the new HTML and CSS standards. This way Microsoft intends to leave behind his past as a “incompatible browser” with the new standards. Sure that the web designers collective will be happy.

Even so, it is said that this new browser (for the moment known as Spartan), it will not come as main browser in the next version of Windows 10, if not it will come accompanied with the version 11 of Internet Explorer, such a way that the transition from one browser to another is done gradually. Many users would be lost if they not found the blue “e” icon on the task bar. In addition, there are still many web pages that are programmed to work with older versions of Internet Explorer, so having IE 11 version, will allow the user to visualize these pages correctly.

In addition to a visual aspect renewed, Spartan will bring support for extensions and add-ons. This is something that works very well in other browsers such as Chrome and Firefox, where we can extend the functionality of the browser by installing a multitude of available extensions.

We'll see if the final version of Internet Explorer 12 never gets to see the light, and instead we have a new browser on the market called Spartan. It is possible that we get out of a doubt on January 21, 2015, where Microsoft will reveal and show the characteristics of the the new Windows 10 Operating System.
