    Review Script Studio

Movie Outline is a program that helps us to create screenplays for films, TV programs, or video games.

To write a good screenplay for movies or television, it is not enough to have a good idea. Our script should contain a good structure and a good pace in the scenes to combine the emotions to get the audience's desired reaction. It is not enough to write the script in a text document to achieve that. We'll need a tool that assists us in the complex task of creating a good script.

Professionals and beginners can use Movie Outline in screenwriting. This software uses the Step Outline technique, which consists of a list of the scenes in our story, and a brief description. In this way, we can develop each scene's story, characters, and script. In addition, we can structure and plan the story easily: mark acts with different colors, reorganize the scenes, keep track of characters' evolution, format the screenplay, and compare our history with famous Hollywood films.

The interface is very simple and is organized by tabs, which allow us to browse through all the options and functionalities of this software. Thanks to the toolbar, we can add, delete and rearrange steps of the Outline. The text editor includes tools to format the script: bold, italic, underline, ordered lists, tab, etc.

The Outline tab is the first one that we will use to add steps to our history. We must enter the name of the step and a brief description of what happens in it. You can add the steps in any order and reorder them subsequently, in addition to being able to add or delete a particular scene at any given time.

The Script tab allows us to write the script of our history. In addition, we can edit and format the text; this option allows us to intelligent tabulation of the script and autocompletion of locations and characters of the story. In this way, we can focus better on the history and argument, not on the program interface.

At the time of writing, it is complicated to have in mind all the dialogues which take place throughout history. To help us in this task, Movie Outline provides a function called Dialogue Spotlight. We can select a character and see all the dialogues that have taken place throughout history. We can select only the voice-overs or dialogues between two characters throughout the story.

In the PowerView tab, we can organize the story into acts, sequences, or chapters and assign a color to each. In this way, we can create and organize a better structure of our history, and also, we'll recognize the development of history at a glance, thanks to the code of colors. In addition, the program includes several templates with the basic structure of many of the greatest Hollywood movies.

The Step Cards screen shows the steps in the form of cards. Each card shows the title and the first few lines of each step. This way, we can organize the steps easily, using the mouse to drag the card to the place we want. In addition, if we double-click any card, we'll have access to the scripts or notes in that step.

The Library tab allows comparing the structure and pace of our history with other films of the same genre. The program includes twelve Outlines of famous movies such as Terminator, Ghost, Spider-Man, Seven, Pretty Woman, Dead Poets Society, and more. In this way, we will be able to study scenes of our history compared to those great movies.

In the FeelFactor section, we can analyze the audience's pace and level of involvement in our history and compare it with other Outlines. We can add a “level of feeling” to each scene, such as passion, romance, fear, action, comedy, etc.; these feelings will be displayed in the form of a colored chart so that we can see the evolution of each feeling in our story.

In the Characters tab, we will be able to create character profiles. We can fill in the basic data of each character, such as First name, Last name, Age, Gender, Religion, etc. We can also add a biography of the character, the story arc, and additional notes. We can even select a series of predefined questions, which we must answer as if we were the chosen character to gain more insight into each character's personality. We can also define the type of relationship that a character has with the rest of the characters in the story. Thanks to these options, we can develop in-depth each of the characters that are part of the story.

Thanks to Movie Outline, we can easily add characters to the steps of our history. We must select the desired step and add the chosen character. Then, the program will show us four questions we must answer: What will the character learn in this scene? Or, what conflict is going to the character in this scene? etc. In this way, when we review the scenes, we will know at all times what will happen to each character involved in that scene.

At the Story Tasks option, we have a useful tool to create a to-do list, where we can write the ideas or tasks we must do at another time.

When we export the screenplay, we can export it to PDF, HTML, text documents, and more. In addition, we can export the complete script, Outline, character profiles, dialogue, etc.

Movie Outline is paid and is available for Windows, and Mac OS X. Demo version can be used with no time limits but not allow to perform certain functions, such as Print, exporting, Creating or open a project with more than 10 scenes, etc.
