    Review Unvanquished

Unvanquished is a First-Person Shooter (FPS) video game based on Aliens versus Humans.

The objective of the game is simple, destroy the enemy base. When we start the game, we can choose the team we want to join. If we choose humans, we must destroy Aliens and their bases using the available weapons. It seems simple, but the Aliens are very quick and elusive. However, if we choose the Aliens, we must finish with humans, for we have the advantage of our ability to climb the walls and the speed of movement that we have. To do damage to humans, we only have to touch them, and if we want to make most damage possible, we must touch them on the head.

The game only has an Online mode, where we can select several rooms to join games in progress or create our own game. One of the rooms is reserved for training and learning the use of the controls and also the dynamics of the game. Some rooms are specific to Europe and the United States, so if we are located in any of these places, we can choose the closest server to have a more fluid gaming experience. Although the game is free, servers tend to be empty, so advising a friend to play a few matches in a group is desirable.

To overcome the contrary, we must destroy their base. As we move forward in the game and finish with our enemies, our skills and resources will improve and, thus, our advantage over the opponent team. We have to take care of the topology of the maps, put our troops strategically, and finish with the enemy as soon as possible.

The graphics of Unvanquished are of the same style that the graphics of the game Quake 3 since the game is based on the graphic engine Daemon, which is based on the Quake 3 game. Game graphics are not the latest generation, allowing us to run the game on a computer with a graphics card of the average range. Even so, if we want to take full advantage of game graphics, it is convenient to have the latest generation graphics card.

The game has the option of VoIP to communicate with other game players.

The video game is open source and free of charge. It is cross-platform, so we can play it on Windows, Linux, and Mac.

If we are fans of first-person shooter video games, this one is a good option to enjoy a fun time with some friends. Even though there are many more powerful commercial games, this game is a great alternative for those who want to play an FPS Online for free.
