Review MapleStory R: Evolution
A Story Reimagined: MapleStory R: Evolution
Hello adventurers, pour yourself a cup of nostalgia and buckle up as we take you on a fun, albeit bumpy, ride with MapleStory R: Evolution, developed by RASTAR GAMES HK. Right off the gate, this android game gives us a definite throwback to our dear old classic 2D arcade. With scenes that are faithful recreations of our beloved original MapleStory (you’ll find yourself squealing with delight at the familiar backdrops), this game is nothing short of a joyride for those hungry for some good old remembrance!
Kickin' It Old School In revisiting the classics, there's nothing like fresh spins to make things interesting, right? This game marries the wonderful retro appeal with an easy, idle fun factor. You can leave your characters battling in auto-mode while you stretch out on your couch! It literally plays itself.
But fret not if you're someone who loves to be hands-on during battles; fights come aplenty, and these intense skirmishes will help level up that character rapidly. The multi-tier class advancement system keeps players hooked even further - unlock new skills as you advance level-by-level in your class!
Surely though, what’s an RPG without costumes? From playing dollies to solving mysteries dressed as detectives and armoring up for battle like fierce warriors – customization options alone give MapleStory R: Evolution two thumbs up from us!
And yes! You have cute little pets, too! Level them up, or better still - evolve 'em into mythical beasts that will fight by your side.
Step forward, all interior decorators-in-hiding, because now is your chance to shine! Deck out your adventure base with snazzy furniture. Not just that, call over friends and receive amazing gifts!
Does it sound perfect, then? Umm….
The Chinks in the Armor So, in the land so beautifully built, there may still be some thorns that nip us in the bud. Going through user reviews - there's quite a bit of grumbling about the game being excessively inclined to pay-to-win gamers. This effectively amplifies the gap between strong guilds and solo riders - in this case, how deep your pockets go, not how adept your gaming skills are.
The premium currency seems to slither into every sphere, even down to potions - the gaps widen each time you progress, with some users mentioning they are stuck until they shell out bucks to upgrade. And irritatingly enough, it seems those red little dots (you know what we're talking about!) won't disappear unless you succumb and purchase what “MapleStreet R: Evolution” wants.
Sadly, underwhelming AFK rewards and an impressively laggy performance after a recent update also add salt to the wounds. Oh, and if finding flexible times for daily events is like hunting for rare Pokémon for you - then think twice!
Small screen issues were reported, too, but we’re hoping trivial glitches like these should be ironed out soon by our developer knights in shining armor.
At the end of it all, though, MapleStory R: Evolution leaves us at a crossroads of exhilaration meets exasperation. If you can look past its mollifying graphics or remarkable array of wardrobe choices as sufficient trade-offs against deep-pocket favoritisms or unsatisfactory AFK rewards – you’re more than welcome to plunge into this captivating world!
