Have you ever worked with the MDF image format? Well, it may not be as common as others that we find within its field, but it is worth considering, considering that some famous programs use it. We are talking about applications such as Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%, for example, so it is a format with its audience.

The problem is that we often find images only available in MDF and if we do not have some of the above services but one that works with the ISO format, the easiest thing to do is to look for a file converter. Although there are several perfect ones, we believe that MDF to ISO is undoubtedly one of the best, and as its name suggests, it will allow us to carry out this process without complications.

How it works

MDF to ISO is nothing more than a disk image format converter, allowing us to take any MDF file and transform it into an ISO file in just a few minutes, thus avoiding potential complications. What complications? The lack of compatibility that specific software for processing these contents has with MDF does not usually happen with ISO.

MDF to ISO works straightforwardly since all you have to do is download it, install it and run it, and then select the source file in MDF format that you want to convert to ISO. This is done by first choosing the drive where this content is located, and once you have added it, you can also select the output folder of the new ISO file.

When you have already modified the few parameters that this application offers before the conversion, the only thing you have to do then is to click on the only action button available, the one that says Convert. At that moment, the conversion process of your content will start, and you have to know that it will have a delay associated, as it could not be otherwise, to the size of the original file.

While the process is being carried out, MDF to ISO will show you a progress bar at all times, thanks to which you will know what percentage of the task has already been completed, mainly so that you can avoid running other programs at the same time. And although it is not heavy software at all, when we keep it in the background, it is better than when it is performing the conversions you allocate all the power of your PC to it.

One of the things we liked most about MDF to ISO is that compared to other services in this same segment, it is one of the fastest to perform this type of conversion, which is not so common.

It is fair to point out, at the same time, that MDF to ISO does not have many more options than those mentioned above, and we were also surprised - for the worse - by the fact that it is not possible to undo conversions, i.e., to switch from MDF to ISO. This is probably a feature that not all users will need, but it is no less accurate than other similar tools have it.

Not much can be said about the MDF to ISO interface, considering that its prominence is ephemeral and does not integrate any tools other than those we have discussed previously. In any case, we can highlight the intention of its creators that we do not have to stop during the process by including unnecessary elements and that the design collaborates to obtain a fast experience.

The best

MDF to ISO has many exciting things, including that its developers have set out to create a program capable of carrying out these conversions without delays or complications, and they have indeed succeeded. At the same time, although it depends on external elements, the speed with which it works is one of the best in its segment.

The worst

Without relativizing the main virtues of MDF to ISO, we believe that it also has some defects that are too marked, and its creators could quickly solve that. For example, it is curious that there are no more customization options for the conversion process when some of the missing ones seem essential. To that, we have to add then that we would also have liked it to be able to convert from ISO to MDF.

Rating

In any case, MDF to ISO clearly states its objectives, so you won't be left in doubt about what it has to offer. If its functions, although few, are sufficient for what you are looking for, you can be sure that its performance will leave you satisfied. Now, if you want something more complete, you should look elsewhere.
