Miro is a multimedia library manager, which allows us to organize our digital music and videos.

The digital format is the most common today. Very few still retain a musical or video library in physical format. The physical format has the advantage that it is easy to organize, the covers of the boxes usually have an attractive design, and it is easy to locate the material we were looking for. But, we will need a lot of space to store large music or video collections.
The digital format has the advantage that the physical space to store the files is minimal. The problem with the digital format is the complication that we have to keep all the files well organized and ensure that the files are compatible with all the devices that will use them (PCs, mobile phones, tablets, game consoles, etc.).

Miro arises as a program that allows us to manage our digital multimedia libraries and other online media where we can play audio or video.
The program allows us to import audio and video files on our PC. Once imported, the program looks for data on the Internet about these files and displays detailed information such as the song's name, artist, album art, etc.
We can allow the program to correct the music file data automatically. This way, our musical library will be well-organized, and the names of the songs will be correct. The program uses Echonest and 7Digital to retrieve detailed information about the songs.
If we use iTunes, this program can easily import all of our libraries without creating conflict so that both programs can be used simultaneously without problems.

This program allows us to convert video files to almost any other format. This allows us to convert videos from our PC to a format compatible with our mobile phone, for example, from .avi to .mp4. We can connect our Android mobile, and the program will recognize it. Then we can drag the videos into the Android phone, and the program takes care of converting the video to be compatible with the device.

In addition, to sort our local videos and allow format conversion, we can use Miro to play online videos from services such as Youtube or Vimeo. This way, we can access all the videos (both offline and online) from the same interface. In addition to viewing videos online, the program allows us to download these videos to our PC and add them to our offline video library. This option is highly recommended if we want to store our favorites online videos to avoid not being able to view them in case they cease to be online. The program has several online video websites configured (Youtube, Hulu, etc), but we can add other sites easily.

It can manage Podcasts. We can add our favorite podcasts and download the chapters to our computers. It also allows category navigation to discover new podcasts.
Some podcasts allow being downloaded using .torrent files. Thanks to this program, we can download those files without the need to install any other additional program because this program can manage .torrent files. In addition to a podcast, we can download any other .torrent file, as the .torrent manager is not limited to downloading a single file.

We can easily share the multimedia library managed by Miro with other computers in the Local Network. So it is only necessary that both PCs have installed the program and connected to the other computer. This way, we can navigate through the library of the other PC and play or download any file.

With this program, we can easily buy music in online stores. By default, it comes with Amazon and Google stores, where we can purchase online music. When we purchase from any of these stores, purchased music will automatically go to our music library. We can add other online music stores that we use regularly.

The program suggests installing Adobe Flash Player and Bonjour (in case they don't have it installed). Either of the two suggested programs is secure and necessary to use all this software's features fully. Adobe Flash Player is required to browse certain websites such as Youtube, and Bonjour is necessary if we want to share files between different computers with Miro installed.

As we can see, this program is much more than a simple media player. In addition, this program is free and can be run on Windows, Mac, and Linux, so it will likely become our favorite multimedia manager.
