Have you contracted an expensive broadband service yet do not notice that its performance is related to the amount of money it costs you? We often have a terrible experience because the speed of downloading and uploading data is deficient. Of course, the only way to find out is by performing one of the basic web tests or downloading a program such as Networx.

Networx is a free platform for computers, thanks to which we can know at all times at what speed we are downloading content or data and at what speed we are uploading them to the network. Of course, the ultimate goal is to corroborate whether the service we have access to is the one we pay for every month, and in case it is not, we can make the corresponding claims.

How it works

Using Networx is straightforward; once we have downloaded and executed this tool, we have to click on the application icon, which will appear in the Windows tray . As it is clear, this program can integrate perfectly into our PC's operating environment, and it has been thought to run all the time in the background.

As soon as you click on that icon, Networx will show you both the speed with which you are receiving data from the web and the speed with which you are sending them to avoid the frauds that companies often incur in these cases. In a way, we could say that this is the most basic use of the application, although it is also true that there are other more advanced ones, and we are going to mention them too.

For example, Networx has a window that, if you open it, will allow you to visualize more precise and concrete data, which has to do with data transfers and speed and route analyzers. Within this section, you will find the list of active programs on your PC that are using the computer at that moment to take them into account.

One of the advantages that Networx has over other similar applications is related to the fact that we can decide if we want to monitor each of the connections of our system or only those that are carried out from a network adapter and not from the others. This can be useful, especially for users with several adapters in regular use daily.

When you have the Networx reports you are interested in, you can save them on your computer and then send them by e-mail or manage them as you prefer, even to make comparisons of your connections' evolution later.

We liked the Networx user interface from all points of view. First, it has a segment of top tabs that make it easy to access only the information we are looking for. On the other hand, the design is beautiful, not because it adds more visual elements than necessary, but because of small icons that accompany a sober idea. And finally, as always, it is appreciated that there is a Spanish translation.

On the other hand, we also didn't want to fail to mention that, in case you don't like some of the colors this system uses for its notifications and information, you can always change it from Settings . Here you can make some modifications to its interface; although they are not deep, you should know that you have them at hand.

The best

In case we have to dwell on those virtues of Networx for which we could recommend the installation of this program, we will have to talk about the possibility of visualizing its statistics in real-time thanks to the graphics, which make it much more manageable. We also liked that the notifications and the colors that designate each piece of information are customized to adapt to our environment.

The worst

While we believe that there is nothing that can be described as "the worst" of Networx, it is valid on the other hand that we have seen some applications in the same segment whose statistics are somewhat more complete, without getting into the effectiveness, but talking about the amount of data. The truth is that important information is not missed in this application, so it is just a detail we did not want to point out.

Rating

Networx is an excellent free tool if you want to know the main aspects of your PC's upload and download speed and the programs using your connections. If you want to rule out that your Internet provider is scamming you, this is software that will provide you with enough statistics to know it without needing any further knowledge.
