Greater than Love

Is there anything out there greater than love? Love is a many-splendored thing that lifts us up where we belong. Isn't that so, Moulin Rouge? But what about a game that is about love? I mean, we all love games, right? So, adding love to more love… I think that is just not hitting the mark yet. Well, perhaps a game about love that is just not any love-game, one where you will have to do anything to make your crush fall in love with you, and that is ANYTHING with capital letters. An adventure where you will have to cheat, lie, hide, kill, manipulate and betray to achieve your darkest goal. But, there is no way something like that exists… or is it?

Love is in the air

Someone out there has been paying attention to our latest needs and desires, and finally, something unthinkable has arrived: Yandere Simulator. We are introducing you to a social stealth game, an open-world sandbox that borrows elements from the most popular series of this type of video game and that, at the same time, presents itself as some sort of a school simulation that parodies many popular anime concepts. That bizarre mix generates some amazing-natured gameplay fixed with some other elements that seek to make this quite a unique experience. If you are imagining it as a kind of Hitman meets Japanese High School, then you are on the right track. Crazy right? But rest assured; you still have no idea how crazy it gets.

The game will move around an obsessively lovesick stalker schoolgirl named Ayano Aishi, who has taken it upon herself to eliminate (and that is a literal statement) anyone she believes is monopolizing her crush's attention. So, in other words, you will be playing as this psychotic and jealous anime girl who murders anyone who gets in her way, which will probably end up causing all of those around the main character to get hurt badly, either physically or emotionally. Moreover, all of that will occur while you keep the image of a normal schoolgirl stealthily trying to dispose of bodies and hide evidence to avoid getting caught. Yes, you have read that, just alright.

Breaking down Love

The main character, Ayano, is also referenced as Yandere-chan after the Japanese term yandere. According to our little friend Google, this concept stands for a character, usually a girl, who fits the archetype of being truly kind and gentle on the outside, but quite aggressive and deranged on the inside, often leading to homicidal conclusions.

The shape of Love

Your goal will be clear in the game, and due to Ayano's yandere nature, you will have lots of approaches to get away with your desires. The diverse array of methods will range from peaceful to violent and will include things like innocent matchmaking, befriending, betrayal, gossip, expulsion, and even frameups. However, things will get dark pretty quickly, as the main character gets involved with kidnapping, electrocution, poisoning, drowning, burning, faked, and incited suicides, among some other more specific elimination methods.

Of course, Yandere Simulator is not leaving behind anything from the old school. So, you will still be allowed to rely on simple murder methods using various weapons seen throughout the game, such as a kitchen knife or a circular saw, a baseball bat, and even a katana. However, you must never forget to avoid being witnessed while performing your love-criminal activities, or you will suffer penalties that will lead you away from your pure goal.

In a nutshell, just slaughter anyone who gets in your way, but remember to dispose of corpses and clean up every drop of blood while destroying evidence so the police are not able to link you to murder. If the boy you love witnesses who you really are, he will just never love you, and the game will be over.

All you need is Love

The current state of Yandere Simulator is, as defined by the developer, a playable debug sandbox build. That means that not all features are currently implemented and that there is still some great potential for further updates. So, you should know by now what all you need right?
